Come work with us!  FABnyc is seeking a Director of Programs.

FAB is seeking a full time Director of Programs to shape and implement its arts and community engagement programming.   The role includes working with the Executive Director on all aspects of programming, including community partnerships, artist commissions, support for local organizing, and initiatives which help sustain member cultural organizations across the Lower East Side.  

The ideal candidate will have

–  Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

–  Capacity to take leadership on projects while thriving in a collaborative environment

–  Experience with community partnerships and public engagement

–  Strong knowledge of the field and practice of community engaged art

–  Excellent organizational skills; can set goals and follow through with accountability

–  Manages time effectively with multiple projects at play

–  Fluency with Mac platforms; ease with Google Apps and Slack

–  A commitment to inclusion and equity that has informed their work and familiarity with an intersectional approach to social justice

–  Excitement about the work FAB is doing in the Lower East Side

–  Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or graphic design skills a plus.

We are seeking a candidate with a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience, with at least 3-4 years working in the nonprofit arts.  We prefer a candidate with a background in community based arts, civically or socially engaged arts practices, and/or cultural organizing. 

Full Time.  Compensation $48,500 plus benefits.  

Location:  FAB office at Downtown Art, 70 East 4th Street.
