A Light Without Shadow, May 11 through June 17: Artists Alliance turned to their community of alumni with a simple request: what might be the larger (perhaps less overt) implications of the era of quarantine? Throughout the months of May and June, AAI will post their reflections of shared humanity, of remembrance, of release, of healing, and of truth. It is our hope that this series will offer our community a new lens through which we can understand this period of time.

Creative Time
Creative Time Comics 2020: features a new commissioned artist each week to create a timely and original comic as a rapid response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, features an array of international voices, offering a global perspective on the crisis. The resulting works will be released on Creative Time’s Instagram account weekly, and featured on our website and other social media platforms.

East Village Community Coalition
Saving History: Community Advocacy in the East Village – Touring the streets surrounding Tompkins Square Park, we look at moments in time where the actions of neighbors, activists and local organizations helped change the course of history, letting personal recollection guide us through these sites. Learn how constant advocacy through zoning, historic districts and landmarking efforts helps ensure the survival of small businesses, spaces of community, and architectural identity in the East Village.
