New York Neo-Futurists Desiree Burch, Cara Francis & Erica Livingston serve up a cure for what ails you in The Soup Show, a “neo-medicine show” of sorts, in which they perform in and around a giant pot of self-made soup (see pic). Bottling this soup, as well as a series of elixirs, potions, tonics and products, they heal and reveal the female experience live, honest and in the flesh.

Incorporating ingredients from interviews, living newspaper, and personal stories, Soup Show will observe the female as consumer and consumed and as an agent of conflict and commodity. We will discuss whether forms of oppression exploit or are exploited by their victims, and what we’ve gained and lost through liberation. Ultimately, “Soup Show” will feed its audience with a question: How far has the women’s movement moved us?
