Works In Progress
The mission of Works in Progress NYC is to train young people in the art of graphic design and t-shirt silkscreening in a real business environment. Works in Progress recruits interns through groups such as Kaplan House and City As School. Professionals train the interns in all aspects of the silkscreen and graphic design field, from the concept stage through the finished product. Works in Progress have been in business for over 23 years and have had dozens of interns work with them, many of whom work for them today for real salaries and health benefits. Works in Progress has produced many items for museums, galleries, community groups, clubs, and restaurants.
