ABC No Rio New Building (156 Rivington Street) – Tours: 10-11am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 1-2pm
Participants will take a tour around the new ABC No Rio building with ABC No Rio representatives and Paul Castrucci Architects. They can firsthand see what the new space will look like and learn about the programs (new and old) that will take place in the building. We will also talk at length about the environmentally friendly infrastructure that will be implemented in the building and how it will benefit the local community.
ABC No Rio Zine Library (107 Suffolk St #305) – 1-5pm
One of New York’s largest public zine collections (with over 13,000 zines) will be open to the public to browse. Zine librarians will be present to give a full explanation of our archival practices and vision, and help participants with navigation. Participants will be able to browse the entire collection!
Not wheelchair accessible. The new building is an open construction site and will require participants to sign a waiver and wear a safety hat (provided).
ABC No Rio is a volunteer-led nonprofit community center for arts and activism. Since 1980, we have provided a home for the culture of opposition – facilitating cross-pollination between artists and activists committed to social justice.
