Fatima Osman, Open Arts LES Production Assistant

Fatima (she/they) is a writer, dancer, and lifelong lover of history. Since graduating from college, they have primarily worked in schools and non-profits across the city in mostly community-facing roles such as a Dean for Sadie Nash Leadership Project and a volunteer at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. They hope to create spaces where artists of all kinds and the wider community can engage with and discuss the importance of the arts as a way of persevering and celebrating cultural heritages. Their mother would always stress to them the importance for everyone to do what they can for their communities because we are all sharing spaces together. It is work they find immense joy and fulfillment in and a field they hope to grow in.
