Want to create a portrait of your community’s nature, culture, social justice and green living resources? Green Map System supports locally-led Green Map projects that create expressive, perspective-changing maps which act as practical guides for residents and tourists, and comprehensive inventories for decision-makers. Mapmaking teams pair the non-profit’s open source icons, adaptable engagement and mapping tools with local knowledge and leadership as they chart the environment of home. With a new mapping platform and App, Green Map making is free for non-commercial projects and has already expanded to 65 countries.
Green Map System is based in the culturally-rich, socially active neighborhood of the East Village, develops both global and local resources that test out new concepts, extend the meaning of Green Map, and support change in their home community alongside the network’s global efforts.
