Art Loisaida Foundation (ALF) is an arts and cultural organization based in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They seek to expand the venues for local artists from our vibrant eclectic community and to improve access to local venues. They advocate for the arts and artists, seeking to provide opportunities for artists to ply their trade and sell their work by promoting visual arts exhibits, multidisciplinary performance, art slams, and children’s art classes. Art Loisaida Foundation is funded through public support: donations, art supplies from Materials for the Arts, Utrecht Art supplies, and private donors.
Productions or Exhibits of Artist Work
ALF produces the annual Alphabet City Short Film Festival at the 6th and B Garden and regularly organizes art exhibits featuring local LES artists at the Ottendorfer Public Library and Theater for the New City, as well as other local venues. ALF often issues open calls to the arts community, with a particular focus on artists who live and/or work in the Lower East Side.
Special Programs for Youth
Art Loisaida Foundation works in partnership with Garden Stories: Leadership Workshops, to provide a series of creative interdisciplinary workshops for third-grade students at the Children’s Workshop School (an NYC public school.)
