Art Loisaida Foundation is an arts & cultural organization that grew out of an artist collaborative. It was started in 1995 by East Village artists Mario Bustamante, Robert Slaughter and Carolyn Ratcliffe who enlisted artists who lived around Tompkins Square Park to exhibit their work in 2 popup galleries in conjunction with Earth Celebrations’ Rites of Spring. In 2008 it was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization by Mario Bustamante, Onno DeJong & Carolyn Ratcliffe.
